Pokémon GO is an Augmented Reality (AR) phenomenon that launched in Summer 2016, and attracted more than 20 million daily users at its peak. In this time, some businesses saw a surge in customer sales, due to being near an in-game "Poke-stop." In this talk, I will explore various avenues for AR, including geo-located advertising (a la Pokémon GO), interactive shopping experiences, and more. Each subtopic will be explored through app demos showcasing the power of the technology. If time allows, we will build a simple Pokémon GO app using the Unity Game Engine.
